It’s Okay to Change Your Mind
I had completely stalled with hand quilting my SOFT quilt, and last night reading a post by my friend Tiffany I realized how much I WANT to continue to quilt it, but that something was holding me back. I jumped back in, continuing with my thrifted pink thread (that I think might be a crochet thread??) and remembered almost instantly why I had stopped - it doesn't glide through smoothly, and after only a few minutes my fingers and wrist started hurting!!
But I had committed to this thread! And it was Going To Be The Thread For This Project (this is the story I was telling myself, anyway).
Then I thought - what would happen if I tried a different thread? Would it feel different? So I started quilting a new section with 12wt white thread and all of a sudden I was quilting! A lot!! Smoothly and easily and happily!!!! It wasn't the quilt, it was the thread.
And now I'm thinking how the different sections will be different times/parts of the quilting - and how thats a fun thing that adds interest rather than a bad thing. And how changing my mind about the thread means continuing to work on the quilt!!
